Duties: Work with clients to identify their need for innovative solutions to improve their business processes and increase their profitability by obtaining and analyzing client requirements and enhancement requests and facilitating dialogue with the client throughout the software development process. Work as a member of Product Development and Services team to design, develop and implement the company’s software solutions. Perform software requirements analysis (SRA) to outline the specifications for the planned software products, including with regards to software purpose, product perspective, design constraints, product functions, user’s characteristics, and specific client requirements (including external interface requirements, functional requirements, performance requirements, and clients’ system capabilities and attributes). Using the software requirements specification, design software solutions, considering the need for modularity, maintainability, reliability, security, and usability. Develop web-based applications utilizing .NET, C#, XML, Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle, with a particular focus on Energy Trading & Risk Management applications. Work with stakeholders (Clients, team members) to evaluate the software component for software bugs or other defects and verify that it is fit for use, ensuring product meets requirements, responds to inputs, performs its functions correctly, is usable and can run within its intended environments. Perform debugging where necessary to resolve errors. Integrate different software applications to ensure smooth processing of final complete products. Oversee products installation, provide user training, and prepare products to go live; and Ensure accurate documentation of each stage of development to ensure future maintenance/upgrades can be easily conducted. Where necessary, go onsite and interact with end-users on product implementation and deployment projects as well as on client specific in the areas of Trading & Regulatory Compliance, Counterparty Credit Risk Management, Commodity Asset Valuation, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Disclosure Reporting and Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM)system reporting and configuration. Ensure appropriate deployment strategy by determining availability of resources at client site and customizing and activating software. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues for clients in a timely fashion. Work with the development team to enhance and/or customize existing solutions designed by HOC. Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and technical specifications. Establish QA strategies for functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensure testing coverage aligns with software requirements and business expectations.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field (or its equivalent) plus 3 years of professional experience. Position also requires 3 years of experience in Coding & Programming. Additionally, position requires 2 years of experience in the following: Communication with international clients; Testing, Project planning, and Problem solving; Understanding Business Processes and translating it into technical solution; Systems Integration. Telecommuting permitted.
